Fabregas strikes to sink Hannover.

Arsenal kept a clean sheet without Kolo Toure as they claimed a 1-0 win over German Bundesliga side Hannover 96 on Wednesday evening.

Cesc Fabregas got the only goal for the Gunners in the ninth minute after an exquisite pass from Robin van Persie in their first match since central defender Toure completed a £16million move to Manchester City.

The Gunners lined up with William Gallas and Thomas Vermaelen in the centre of their defence, and unless Arsene Wenger bolsters his defensive options, that looks like Arsenal's first-choice pairing at centre-half.

Croatia striker Eduardo made a surprise second-half appearance in place of Van Persie, having not been on the pre-match teamsheet.

Bendtner staying at Arsenal.

Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has committed his future to Arsenal amid claims he could be heading for AC Milan.

The Italian giants are known to be hunting for striking reinforcements following the departure of Kaka to Real Madrid, and reports at the weekend suggested the 21-year-old Dane was a potential target.

However, Bendtner said: “I haven't heard anything about [that]. As far as I know I am totally with Arsenal. This is where I want to be.”

Bendtner, Eduardo and Robin van Persie showed just why Arsenal won't miss Emmanuel Adebayor this season.

The rampant frontline split the five goals between them as Arsene Wenger's side romped to success in the second match of their mini pre-season European tour.

Big wins for Gunners.

Eduardo scored twice as Arsenal routed Szombathely 5-0

Nicklas Bendtner, who has recently been linked with a move to AC Milan, also struck a double against the Hungarian outfit, and he opened the scoring as he headed home Armand Traore's cross from the left flank.

Eduardo grabbed the next two goals and Bendtner beat Szombathely goalkeeper Daniel Rozsa with a low shot just before the break to make the score 4-0 to Arsenal.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger made eight changes at the interval with Robin van Persie and Andrey Arshavin both being introduced to give the home side more to worry about.

It was van Persie who bagged the final goal of the game as he fired home a penalty after Bendtner had been bundled to the ground by Rozsa in the box. The Dutchman thought he had added a sixth with a header, but it was ruled out.

That's No Ordinary Ruler!: It's Electronic.

This is an electronic ruler by designer Shay Shafranek that has the form factor of an analog one. What will they think of next?! Affordable jetpacks? I sure hope so.

Press the power/reset button on the ruler and the LEDs light up, waiting for your input. The wooden cover conceals what the pencil in the image above is touching: a line of metal points jutting out from the inner edge of the ruler. The ruler uses the change in voltage induced by touching one of these points to calculate the distance.

Neato: Human Bodies Produce Visible Light.

Thats right folks, the human body actually produces visible light -- and not just if you live under power lines! Unfortunately, it's not visible to us because it's 1,000 times weaker than our eyes can detect.

The human body literally glows, emitting a visible light in extremely small quantities at levels that rise and fall with the day, scientists now reveal.

In fact, virtually all living creatures emit very weak light, which is thought to be a byproduct of biochemical reactions involving free radicals.

The researchers found the body glow rose and fell over the day, with its lowest point at 10 a.m. and its peak at 4 p.m., dropping gradually after that.
These findings suggest there is light emission linked to our body clocks, most likely due to how our metabolic rhythms fluctuate over the course of the day.

Ethicists Demand New Laws For Robots.

Robot-ethicists are demanding a retuning of Asimov's laws of robotics, which they believe are too simple and do not take into account just how badly robots want to kill us all.

"If you build artificial intelligence but don't think about its moral sense or create a conscious sense that feels regret for doing something wrong, then technically it is a psychopath," says Josh Hall, a scientist who wrote the book Beyond AI: Creating the Conscience of a Machine.

Accordingly, robo-ethicists want to develop a set of guidelines that could outline how to punish a robot, decide who regulates them and even create a "legal machine language" that could help police the next generation of intelligent automated devices.

Goal-crazy Arsenal sink Columbia.

Arsenal went goal crazy on Tuesday night as they kicked off their European tour with a 7-1 demolition of SC Columbia in Vienna.

Nicklas Bendtner, Robin van Persie and Aaron Ramsey all grabbed braces, while William Gallas also got on the scoresheet.

The Gunners did suffer a minor embarrassment when a freakish goal from Patrick Lehner gave the amateurs a shock first-half lead after Manuel Almunia's clearance cannoned off him into the net.

That was met by a delighted record crowd of 6,900 at the Schwarzlackenau Stadium but it merely stung Arsenal into action.

Bendtner equalised within a minute and grabbed another after Ramsey had fired the visitors ahead.

Van Persie slotted home a penalty early in the second half and nodded in Bacary Sagna's cross to make it five and Gallas got in on the act before Ramsey fired in off a post late on.

Thomas Vermaelen started for Arsenal and he squandered a decent chance for his first Arsenal goal, lashing a shot wide after Ramsey's chip had fallen for him eight yards out.

Arsenal, who made eight changes at the break, travel across the border into Hungary for Monday's friendly at Szombathelyi.

Brand Keyboard Replaces Letters With Logos.

The Brand Keyboard, designed by Ignacio Pilotto, has logos instead of letters on all the keys. That's neat.

BRANDS : Adidas - Burger king - Coca Cola - Disney - Ebay - Facebook - Google - Hp - Intel - J&b - Kodak - Lacoste - Mac donald´s - Nike - O2 - Pepsi - Quaker - Rolling stone - Shell - Twitter - Unilever - Virgin - WordPress - Xerox - You tube - Zippo

The repetition of the logos used by the advertising psychology, causes us to systematically recognize the brands, getting us to recognize the logos rather than our own alphabet.

Gunners boss still tracking Chamakh.

Arsene Wenger has admitted his interest in Marouane Chamakh, even though the Bordeaux striker claims to have given up hope of joining Arsenal.

The 25-year-old has been persistently linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium as a possible replacement for Emmanuel Adebayor and Wenger revealed he has been keeping tabs on the frontman.

"We keep an eye on him," said Wenger on the club's official website. "He is one of the players that we will follow and if we went for a striker then he would be one of the possibilities."
Chamakh, though, is no longer confident a move to Arsenal will materialise.

"I don't really believe it much any more," he told L'Equipe.
But the forward still has his heart set on a move to the Premier League, with Sunderland, Blackburn, Tottenham and Fulham all reportedly possible destinations.

"My bosses (at Bordeaux) are trying to convince me to stay," added Chamakh.
"But for me, it's a risk that I'll take. It's my dearest wish."

Chamakh, who has spent all his career at Bordeaux since joining their youth set-up at the age of 16, revealed he hopes to finalise a move before Les Girondins set off for Canada next Thursday.
"Frankly my head isn't in going to Canada," he said.

"My head is in England.

"We're talking about my first transfer, I didn't know anything about all the problems that this could pose. I'm having bad nights at the moment."

Adebayor has joined big-spending Manchester City and Wenger paid tribute to the Togo striker's impact in his three years in north London.

Wenger said: "Firstly, we must thank Emmanuel for his contribution to the club. Whenever he was on the pitch, he always gave absolutely everything to the team and since joining us in January 2006, he produced a number of match-winning performances.

"Emmanuel leaves with our best wishes and we now look forward continuing our preparations for next season."

Adebayor may have gone, but Czech Republic midfielder Tomas Rosicky, who has been plagued by a hamstring tendon injury for about one-and-a-half seasons, could be fit for the start of the new campaign.

Rosicky played his first game for the club in 18 months when he captained the side in a friendly at Barnet on Saturday, playing the first 45 minutes.

The former Borussia Dortmund star will now look to step up his fitness at the nine-day training camp in Austria, which starts with a friendly in Vienna tomorrow.

And Wenger feels that, if all goes to plan, the creative midfielder could be fit to for the start of the Premier League.

"We have to prepare him well and balance him well," said the manager.

"But if he comes through the preparations OK then he could start the season.

"There was a time I feared that [he might not come back] and I think that he felt it too. But he always had a dedicated and healthy life so I always had hope."
