The former Gunners goalkeeper feels that the Frenchman may have a couple of things up his sleeve before the new campaign begins.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has enough high-quality players at his disposal to mount a successful challenge for a top four finish this season, according to former goalkeeping great Bob Wilson, but he may also make a swoop in the summer transfer market.
Speaking at the club's Members' Day at the Emirates, where he had been introducing the Gunners players to the crowd, Wilson felt there was sufficient quality already at the club for supporters to be able to enjoy the campaign ahead. He told Sky Sports News.
"When I introduced those 29 players today, I started thinking 'Hang on a minute, how desperate is the need for other players here?'""Having said that, Thomas Vermaelen has come in and he is the only newcomer, though Armand Traore's come back and Fran Merida's back, and, obviously you have the massive boost of Tomas Rosicky who missed a season, and then the brilliant and wonderful Eduardo [Da Silva] who is back on board.
"I think Arsene will add a minimum of one, possibly two. He has the money to do it."But you know, and I know, that he will just not go in for the sake of spending money."
