Arsène Wenger admits it feels strange to be named Barclays Manager of the Month - because he has just lost a cup final.
The Frenchman has won the individual honour for the first time in four years after guiding his team to ten points from a possible 12 in the Premier League in February.
That month was notable for a thrilling win over Barcelona in the Champions League but also for a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat to Birmingham at the Carling Cup Final. Hence Wenger's surprise at his latest accolade.
"It's quite strange when you have just lost a cup final that you get Manager of the Month!" admitted the Frenchman.
"It's a little bit ‘what have you done there?' But we are on a good run in the Premier League and we want to continue. We are in our best position for years now. And we can finish the job now.
"[My award] just means we are on a good run, that's all. The run that matters is now until the end of the season. So that just shows that the confidence level."
