Kia And DC Entertainment's Superman Themed Optima

superman-car-1.jpg

Remember when Kia and DC Entertainment got together to customize a car for each member of the Justice League? Well here's the Optima Hybrid Superman one. It, uh, it's really something. I'm just having a hard time believing Superman would drive a Kia. "Of course he would." Yeah but you're just saying that because YOU drive a Kia. With all the resources Superman has at his disposal I can't help but feel he'd drive something a little more, how should I put this.

Coffee Mug With Modular Exterior For LEGO Building

lego-coffee-mug-1.jpg

Want to attach LEGO minifigs to your coffee cup? Superglue them. Ooooor buy this $20 Build-On Brick Cup from ThinkGeek. The mug can be used to attach LEGO, PixelBlocks, Mega Bloks, KRE-O, and K'NEX Bricks but isn't an official product from any of those companies, it just HAPPENS to work with them all. Me? I always drink out of the color-changing dinosaur mug I posted HERE.

So Whimsical: Bridge Suspended From Helium Balloons

floating-bridge-1.jpg

This is Pont de Singe, an installation art piece by Olivier Grossetête. It consists of a little bridge being suspended over a pond by helium balloons. It's not actually functional though, you'd wind up in the drink if you tried to cross it.

Time Waster: Tamagotchi Pets Return As Android App

tamagotchi-android-app.jpg

I never owned a Tamagotchi keychain pet in the 90's because I'm not a girl and I was born with absolutely zero nurturing instincts. But maybe you did have one. And maybe now you want to rekindle that feeling of a new pet dying every day and piss away your phone battery at the same time. Enter the Tamagotchi L.i.f.e. Android app from Bandai and Sync Beats Entertainment.

It's a Tamagotchi keychain, but on your phone. Truthfully, I can't even believe I'm writing about it because it's 80-degrees outside and my body is begging me to finish work.

Ultra-Impressive Ghostbusters Headquarters In LEGO

ghostbusters-hq-1.jpg

This is the very impressive Ghostbusters headquarters recreated in LEGO by LEGO pro Orion Pax (of LEGO Back to the Future DeLorean and Hill Valley fame -- be sure to check out his site for even more of this build and equally impressive others). The detail is out of this world.

Also out of this world: ghosts. They like, exist in another dimension or something. I forget, but I heard it on one of those shitty Ghosthunter reality shows where they all run around in the dark scaring each other. Now let's talk about Slimer.

When he wasn't a ghost was he like, a LIVING floating ball of slime? Because I'm not sure which is worse. SPOILING FACT: Slimer is actually a "focused, non-terminal repeating phantasm (aka a Class 5 full-roaming vapor) composed entirely of Ectoplasm and was never actually a living thing.

R/C Cars Race Through City Made Entirely Of Cardboard

cardboard-rc-car-chase.jpg

Inspired by Freddie Wong's R/C police chase shot like a real movie, this is another impressive little R/C car chase by Youtuber FinalCutKing through a cardboard city made "entirely out of cardboard, hot glue, and spray paint." Impressive, but I made a girlfriend once out of the exact same things. Well, technically she was a love doll. One whose arms and legs fell off the one time we decided to shower together. For the record, it was her idea in the first place.

BTTF DeLorean "A" Car Restored To Its Former Glory

bttf-delorean-1.jpg

Time Machine Restoration, a group dedicated to bringing Back to the Future's film-used Time Traveling DeLorean "A" car (the primary one used in the movie) to its former glory, has completed their restoration. And, from the looks of the thing, I think it might actually be able to time travel. Or at least look great parked in a handicapped space.
The restoration took almost a year, as we completely tore the car down to the frame. Every bulb, bolt and wire was cleaned, repaired and put back on. It's the most extensive and exhaustive restoration that's ever been done on the car. We're proud that the car has just gone on display at Universal Studios in Hollywood.

Old Timer: Retired LEGO Mold Made 120-Million Bricks

retired-lego-mold.jpg

This is a retired LEGO injection mold that pumped out 120-million six-stud bricks over its lifetime. That's a serious work ethic. LEGO molds these days? They come fresh out of school and expect some cushy job to just be handed to them, then get all pissy when it doesn't happen. I WORKED IN A WEST VIRGINIA COAL MINE FOR FORTY YEARS.

EPL: Arsenal vs Aston Villa 2-1

Santi Cazorla

By Richard Clarke at Emirates Stadium
Santi Cazorla scored five minutes from time to hand Arsenal a crucial victory over Aston Villa on Saturday.

Nacho Monreal raced up the left and squared for his compatriot to gleefully convert his second goal of the game.

Carzola’s sixth-minute strike had given Arsenal the advantage early on.

They withstood significant Villa pressure in the first half but dominated after the restart. So Andreas Weimann’s long-range drive past Wojciech Szczesny came strongly against the run of play in the 68th minute.

Custom Made Super Mario Final Level Leather Belt

mario-belt-1.jpg

This is the leather belt lovingly crafted by leatherworker Julia for her brother's birthday. It features the last level of Super Mario Bros. painstakingly pressed out and painted. That's a belt I would be proud to wear.

Dinosaur Skeleton LEGO Sets (Don't Exist Yet But Should)

lego-dinos-1.jpg

These are two dinosaur skeleton LEGO sets designed by Geekologie reader jazlecraz that are up for support on the LEGO CUUSO website (where if they reach 10,000 supporters LEGO will review the sets for manufacture). How LEGO hasn't already made sets like these is beyond me. Kids love LEGO, and kids love dinosaurs, it's a no-brainer. And trust me -- if there's one thing I know, it's using zero brain.

EPL: Arsenal vs Stoke City 1-0

By Richard Clarke at Emirates Stadium

A late free-kick by Lukas Podolski secured a vital victory for Arsenal against Stoke City on Saturday.

Arsène Wenger’s side had been denied by their deep-defending visitors all afternoon before the German struck with 12 minutes left.

There was a whiff of controversy about the goal as Theo Walcott was offside when the kick was taken and, after the ball flicked off Geoff Cameron’s boot and flew in, the assistant referee raised his flag.
