Brilliant Barcelona triumph in Rome.

Barcelona became the champions of Europe for the third time on Wednesday night after defeating Manchester United 2-0 in Rome.

Pep Guardiola's men were at their breathtaking best in the Champions League final as goals from Samuel Eto'o (10) and Lionel Messi (70) earned the Catalan giants their third trophy of the season after already claiming La Liga and the Copa del Rey.

United had no answer to Barca's slick passing and Guardiola becomes part of a select group who have now won Europe's top club competition both as a player and a coach.

But it all started so well for United, who were looking to protect a 25-match unbeaten run in the tournament.

Cristiano Ronaldo was given the opportunity to line up a very early free-kick that Victor Valdes could not hold.

Following up, Ji-Sung Park must have thought he was going to score but Gerard Pique made an excellent tackle to save the day for Barcelona.

After a neat move involving Patrice Evra and Anderson, Ronaldo was not far away with another stinging shot.

But there was a nasty shock looming for the Premier League champions as Barca went in front on their first attack.

Andres Iniesta played a pass to Eto'o that allowed the Cameroon striker to step inside Nemanja Vidic.

Michael Carrick closed in to make the tackle, but Eto'o managed to toe-poke the ball with enough force to take it past Edwin van der Sar.

Pique was booked when he blocked off Ronaldo's surge towards the penalty area after Giggs found him with a crossfield pass.

This time Giggs took the curling free-kick but could not keep it on target.
Messi flashed a shot over the bar after cutting in off the right flank, Barcelona looking to exploit gaps that would inevitably appear as United searched for an equaliser.

A brilliant passing move from Barcelona ended when Anderson barged Iniesta over on the edge of the area.

Xavi took the free-kick, although van der Sar seemed to have it covered as it curled wide.
Barcelona started brightly and Theirry Henry was released down the left and skipped inside Rio Ferdinand before his shot was smothered by van der Sar.

And on 53 minutes Xavi almost made it 2-0, but his superb curling free-kick rebounded back of van der Sar's left-hand upright.

But United bounced back quickly and after a spell of possession, Rooney swung over a ball from the right which just evaded a diving Park at the far post.

However with United threatening to peg back the Spanish champions Barcelona made it 2-0 with 20 minutes to go when Xavi's inch-perfect cross from the right was headed expertly back across van der Sar and into the far corner by Messi.

Just moments later both Giggs and Ronaldo saw close-range efforts repelled by Valdes.
But Carles Puyol almost made it 3-0 with five minutes to go only for van der Sar to repel his close range shot after another slick passing move.

Four-star Gunners pound Potters.

Arsenal swept aside Stoke 4-1 at the Emirates, scoring three quick first-half goals to sign off in style from a tough Premier League campaign.
An own goal from James Beattie, making his 300th league appearance, was swiftly followed up by a penalty from Robin van Persie and Abou Diaby's bullet header.

Stoke, safe from any last-day relegation drama, pulled a goal back from the spot through Ricardo Fuller, only for Rory Delap to then gift Van Persie his second four minutes before half-time.

Arsenal, already secure in fourth place following a 21-match unbeaten run, had little other than somewhat wounded pride left to play for after going out of both the FA Cup and Champions League at the semi-final stage.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is now certain to strengthen his squad over the summer as he looks to claw back the 18-point gap on champions Manchester United.

Chants of "there is only one Arsene Wenger" rang out around Emirates Stadium before kick off, as the home fans showed their united appreciation for the French coach who has endured one of the most testing of his 12 campaigns at the helm, but allayed fears he was set to quit for Real Madrid.

There was an early opening for Stoke when Delap's long throw into the penalty area was headed wide by Ryan Shawcross.

Theo Walcott got away down the right and cut the ball back to Denilson, whose 20-yard shot was well saved by Steve Simonsen.

Cesc Fabregas played a quick corner to Van Persie, who slipped the Arsenal captain back in towards the near post.

His ball across the face of goal was knocked into the net by Beattie to give Arsenal the lead after 10 minutes.

Before Stoke could recover, the conceded a penalty when Shawcross brought down Van Persie.
The Dutchman stepped up to score from the spot, his 19th goal of the season.
Arsenal were in overdrive - and moved 3-0 ahead after 18 minutes.

Van Persie whipped over a deep free-kick from the right, which Diaby dispatched with a bullet header on the penalty spot.

Simonsen looked in some discomfort - not just from picking the ball out of the net - and was replaced, holding his lower back as he limped off, after 22 minutes by Thomas Sorensen.
Beattie's long-range free-kick was then well held by 21-year-old rookie Arsenal keeper Vito Mannone, making his first appearance in a league match since a loan spell at Barnsley during early 2006 following injuries to both Manuel Almunia and Lukasz Fabianski.

A clever pass from Van Persie at the edge of the area played in Walcott, but the England forward was denied by a fine reaction save from Sorensen's outstretched boot.

After 31 minutes, Stoke were awarded a penalty when Denilson tripped Fuller, who sent Mannone the wrong way to pull a goal back.

That, though, only seemed to fire up Arsenal.
Van Persie drilled in a 25-yard free-kick, which crashed off the underside of the crossbar and Sorensen clawed away Andrey Arshavin's follow up shot before Kieran Gibbs headed over.
A terrible error of judgment from Delap handed Arsenal a fourth when his back header lacked enough power to get through to the keeper.

Van Persie gratefully accepted the gift, collecting the ball expertly on his chest before swivelling to fire it past Sorensen after 41 minutes.

Following the restart, Mannone had to be quick out of his area to clear a long through ball ahead of Fuller.

Defender Kolo Toure had stayed up following a free-kick and, from 12 yards out, sent his header over the bar after meeting Arshavin's cross.

Arsenal went close again just past the hour mark following more good work by Arshavin, twisting and turning down the right, before Bendtner cut the ball back across goal and Van Persie fired just over as he leant in at the far post.

Diaby's downward header flew wide as Arsenal maintained the pressure, but had to be content with just the four.

Wenger - I’m not afraid to spend this summer

Arsène Wenger is not afraid to spend his available transfer funds. The manager has made no secret of his desire to add to Arsenal’s first-team squad in the summer after watching his side fall just short in the FA Cup and Champions League this season.

There is money for Wenger to spend on new acquisitions and the Frenchman insists he won’t hesitate to use it.

“I don’t complain about the money I have and I am not afraid to spend the money when I find it,” he stressed at Friday’s press conference."It is not true [that I am afraid to spend].

I cannot manipulate people’s brains unfortunately. And I don’t want to in fact."We spent the money on Andrey Arshavin. In one day I decided to do it."

Almunia: Wenger is the right man for Arsenal.

Goalkeeper Manuel Almunia has told Arsenal fans that manager Arsène Wenger is the right man to bring the glory days back to the club.

The Frenchman's reign at the club is coming under fire and question from many quarters, putting in doubt his continued tenure.

But Almunia says that despite another season without a trophy, Wenger is the right man to lead the club and has the respect of the entire squad.

Almunia said: "Working alongside him makes you feel incredibly relaxed and at peace.
"We train hard day-in, day-out - but he tells us that we will only feel the pressure at the end of the week, during the game.

"We call him the boss. He is the visible face of this club, of Arsenal's project and he is very important for the club.

"What we are lacking is consistency and regularity, also maybe more experience, not in terms of age but in some aspects of the game, our weak points.

"Playing good football is not always easy and we must adapt our games to the circumstances everywhere we go and to be a little bit nastier when needed."

I'm glad to sign for Arsenal instead of Barcelona.

He feared he would have suffered the same fate as Aliaksandr Hleb who joined Barca from Arsenal in 2008.Andrey Arshavin believes he would have made no sudden impact if he signs for Barcelona. He believes if he joined Barca, he would have to compete with Barca's stars including Thierry Henry, Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi.
“I did have an offer from Barcelona but Zenit were not happy. I try not to think about what could have happened and at least at Arsenal I am playing," he said in the Daily Mail.“At Barcelona I think I would be sitting on the bench, like Aleksandr Hleb.
“Which player could I replace? Thierry Henry? No, he is too good and I think Messi will be the World Player of the Year."So where would I play at Barcelona?"

OMGWTFBBQ Chicken Holder Is Iffy.

The Col-Pop is the brainchild of BBQ Chicken USA (a Korean BBQ franchise). They have over 3,500 stores worldwide, but they're just making their way to the states (they have a handful of stores in NY, NJ, and NC), so you may have to wait a bit until you get to experience the awesomeness that is the Col-Pop.
Basically it's a cup insert that perches your chicken nuggets safely and conveniently above your beverage. As you can see from the schematic there, it's pretty simple. Almost as simple as the version I created, which is liquefied chicken soda. Not only is it convenient, you don't have to worry about anybody trying to steal your nuggets.

Chocolate Scrabble Looks Yummy, Delicious

Chocolate Scrabble is a chocolate bar with the alphabet on it. It's 3.5 ounces of delicious dark chocolate. Unfortunately one set of the alphabet does not constitute the tiles necessary to play a round of the awesomest word game ever. So you'll have to buy a bunch of bars.
Like 12 (the number of E's in a regular set). Then you'd have to eat 11 Z's, X's, and Q's along with a bunch other letters. Still, I love the idea. It looks a lot more delicious than the Scrabble tiles I made, which are razor blades. Deadliest game of Scrabble you'll ever play.

The Gun Washer Keeps Your Pieces Clean.

The F636HT Heavy Duty Long Gun & Handgun System looks like a deep fryer for weaponry, but is actually a gun washing machine. The $7,100 unit can clean 10 handguns or 4 long guns at once.

The system includes: one (1) lube pan 35.5"X6" v-bottom construction with anti-splash dampers & cover. Two (2) heavy duty weapon racks with 5 removable compartments, tank cover, drip proof flange with built in rack shelf and carry handles, H.D. adjustable heater for parkerizing, variable power generator 3/4" S.S. front drain valve and rear fill port. 2 gal. CC235 clean concentrate, 6 gal. CC400L lubricant.

The company estimates you can clean about 1,000 guns with the system's initial 8 gallons of included lube. And that, my friends, is a lot of guns. And lube. Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Indeed, the world's first slip-and-slide shooting range. Whee!

What The World's Smallest Car Looks Like.

This is what the world's smallest (but not the lowest) street-legal car looks like. Because this is the world's smallest street-legal car. I don't know if you understand logic, but my argument is infallible. The car, which measures a scant 39" high x 26" wide, is allegedly twice as small as the last record holder.

Car modder Perry Watkins took the frame of the "Postman Pat" children's ride and mounted it on a quad mini-bike, using its 150cc engine. The car features a windshield wiper, lights and signals, mirrors, and even a Pimp My Ride-worthy paint job and fake racing exhaust pipes. The car, christened "The Wind-Up," can hit 40 miles per hour in what we're sure is an incredibly uncomfortable and scary ride.

Good looking, Perry. And you know what they say about guys who drive really small cars don't you? Serious neck and back problems. Kidding, kidding -- monster junk

Not A Plane: Winged Submarine Is Confused

The Super Falcon isn't a bird at all. OR IS IT?!? No, it's not. It's a submarine with wings. The brainchild of British inventor Graham Hawkes, the sub is capable of diving to depths of 1,500 feet, achieving breakneck speeds of up to six knots (~7MPH or some really kinky bondage), and traveling approximately 25 nautical miles on a battery charge.

Mr Hawkes said: 'After twenty years of prototyping, Super Falcon is our most advanced and elegant submersible yet, encompassing all the innovations we made in introducing underwater flight from the surface to the bottom of the ocean.'

'It is advanced enough to go barrel-rolling with dolphins, spy-hopping with whales or searching for sunken galleons,' Mr Hawkes added.

Oh hell yes -- I want to go barrel rolling with dolphins and have sex with the Loch Ness Monster! Nessie -- NESSIE! She's a relative of the dinosaurs you know. RAWR! Or should I say WUWW!? That's RAWR underwater.
