Wenger praises Hazard progress

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed he has been 'impressed' by Eden Hazard, but insists the teenager should wait before leaving Lille.

Hazard has caught the eye of several of Europe's top clubs after establishing himself in the Lille side this term.

Chelsea, Liverpool, Inter Milan and Barcelona are among the teams to have been linked with a summer bid for the playmaker.

However, the Belgian recently admitted that he would prefer to join Arsenal or Real Madrid, if he was given the option.

The 18-year-old is under contract at Lille until 2012 and is keen to continue his short-term development with the French side.

Wenger also believes Hazard should stay at his current club, but acknowledged the progress he has made in recent months.

"Hazard is a fantastic young player," the Arsenal boss told Telefoot.
"He has impressed me so far, and I am not the only one he has impressed.
"However, I think he should be left to continue his development where he is at the moment."
