Eat my bits and pieces!: LEGO Track Turbo R/C

Build your own LEGO racing car

If you want your wee geek to respect something, have them build it. If you've ever watched a kid furiously guard his own sandcastle while simultaneously trying to kick down his little sister's, you know this is true. The same holds for toys. If you give your wee geek an RC car, they MIGHT take good care of it, or they might drive it down the stairs repeatedly and laugh as things are bent and broken. (And if you have a little boy, chances are he's going to strap a couple of his sister's Barbies to the top and send them flying to their doom, Thelma & Louise style.)

The LEGO Track Turbo RC will be respected by your wee geek, especially if you encourage them to assemble it on their own. Sure, you can help a little, but don't get suckered into building the whole thing. It's only 92 pieces and the directions are pretty clear; your wee geek can do it! The Track Turbo RC racer features a spoiler, air intake, and oversized engine for blazing-fast speed. It's a pretty tough cookie and will handle quite a bit of crashing, but we have a feeling that once your wee geek invests the time in building it, they'll drive more like an old lady and less like they're trying out for Grand Theft Auto.
